Engine 511
Engine 511 is a 2012 Pierce Arrow XT Pumper
The unit was placed in service December, 2012 and was the first engine of Prince William County’s universal engine minimum standard specifications. Replacing the Department’s 1998 Pierce Quantum, the 2012 Pierce Arrow XT was designated E511.
Engine 511 has a 1500 gallons per minute single-stage Hale pump, 750 gallon water tank, and 450 hp Cummins ISL-9 engine. The unit has two foam tanks (40-gallon Class A and 40-gallon Class B) and Harrison 6kW hydraulic PTO generator. Hose compliment includes two 200’ 1-3/4” crosslays, one 300’ 1-3/4” apartment line, one 1-3/4” front jump line, one rear 2-1/2” attack line, one 3” leader line, and both 3” and 4” supply line.
Engine 511 is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days a year. Our Stonewall Jackson volunteer firefighters and EMTs staff it every night of the week, weekends, and holidays. Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue career firefighters and EMTs staff it during the day Monday through Friday

Truck 511
The unit is a 105’ rear mount Pierce ladder truck with a 500 hp Detroit Diesel engine and Oshkosh All Steer chassis. Ladder compliment includes one 40’, two 35’, one 28’ Duo-Safety ground ladders as well as one 20’, two 16’, and two 14’ Duo-Safety roof ladders. Truck 511 has a pinless, semi-retractable waterway, a portable 10K winch with 6 hitch points, a Onan 20 kW hydraulic generator, Paratech Hydra-fusion struts, and an extended front bumper with hydraulic reels and Hurst rescue tools.
The 2016 Pierce Velocity Truck was placed in service on September 11, 2016. It replaced our older 2003 Pierce Lance which was traded in to recover some of the cost for the new Velocity. Truck 511 is staffed by Stone House volunteer firefighters and EMTs nights, weekends, and holidays. Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue career firefighters and EMTs staff it during the day Monday through Friday.

Engine 511B ON ORDER
Engine 511B will be a 2017 Pierce Impel Velocity pumper with 1500 gallons per minute single-stage Hale pump, 750 gallon water tank, and 450 hp Cummins L9 Diesel Engine. The new engine will be a close replica of the 2012 Pierce Arrow XT with some improvements based on what we learned in the building process and past five years of responding to calls in the E511 2012 Pierce Arrow. This engine will serve as our primary response engine once it is placed in service.
The new engine 511B committee is made up of Stone House Volunteers and Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue career members. The Department prides itself in spending significant time and focus on the pre-construction phase of an apparatus build to ensure we have the best fleet possible responding to calls in our community.
Construction of Engine 511B began January 2018.
